Sunshine Gardens Inc., is a full-service garden center in the heart of "the flower capital of the world" - Encinitas, California.

Always a family owned and operated business since its opening in the early 70's, Sunshine Gardens is the cream of the local garden center crop. Encinitas, and the surrounding North San Diego County area, have many nurseries and garden centers, but Sunshine Gardens is the oldest and the largest of the independent nurseries in the city. Besides annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees, we always have a large selection of quality houseplants, pottery, hanging baskets, seeds, fertilizers, soil amendments, mulch, wood chips, and everything you need to make your garden healthy and beautiful. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff is available to help you choose exactly the right plants.

Throughout the year, Sunshine Gardens carries annual flowers, vegetables and herbs in seed packs, starter 6 paks and 4" pots, in their season.

Sunshine Gardens can provide speakers for your garden club meetings.

Sunshine Gardens offers local delivery year round for a reasonable rate.

In Winter, Sunshine Gardens has the largest selection of "bare root" roses around Also, Sunshine Gardens carries a large selection of bare root fruit trees as well as citrus, and avocados.

In Spring, Sunshine Gardens carries gorgeous spring annuals, Hydrangeas, Wisterias, Alstromerias, Gerbera Daisies, Colorbowls, and so much more.

In Summer, we carry a great selection of annuals and colorful foliage. Sunshine Gardens is proud to sell our own Cannas! Mrs. Sarver, a local canna grower of some renown, passed away several years ago and Sunshine Gardens purchased her entire canna collection from her estate and grows "Mrs. Sarver's Cannas" for sale - so that her legacy will grow beautifully on.

In Fall, Sunshine Gardens carries bulbs - Hyacinths, Daffodils, Narcissus, Tulips, Ranunculas, Iris, Freesias and much, much more... Also, Fall at Sunshine Gardens is a "second spring", a perk of the weather in the beautiful San Diego area, and a wonderful time to enjoy so many plants with color that the rest of the nation loses to frost.

Christmas time brings the best freshly cut Christmas trees and Ecke Poinsettias to add to Sunshine Gardens wonderful year-round selection of garden gifts, baskets, pottery, tools, fountains, birdbaths, etc....
