August is a great month to plant tropicals and grasses.

It's hot, it's dry. Here are some tips for coping. Keep your garden going by watering early in the morning and/or late in the day. Add a 3" layer of mulch or woodchips to your planting beds. You can buy them here. We've stocked up on ornamental grasses to replace your lawn and a huge variety of easy-care, drought-tolerant succulents. They'll make your garden look good while you head to the beach. But head to Sunshine first for a great selection of everything for the obsessed or casual gardener.
